Here’s some more info from the organization itself:

“Please join our Chapter’s Walks this year and help us raise funds for the UN Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women and Girls.   The UN Trust Fund projects support education, advocacy, laws, budgets, and action plans around the world to address and eradicate this rampant violence.

Violence against women and girls exists in many forms of  physical, psychological, sexual and economic abuse.
Globally, as many as 6 out of every 10 women suffer physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetime.
Violence is a major cause of death and disability for women and girls 16-44 years old.  A World Bank study on 10 selected risk factors facing girls and women in this age group, found rape and domestic violence more dangerous than cancer, motor vehicle accidents, war and malaria.   102 Countries have no specific legal provisions against domestic violence.” source: UN Women
